Another incredible day at Omaha Fashion Camp! Campers all had in-depth sketching lessons with Alyssa, while continuing to collect inspiration for their personal brand logos, mood boards and their look for Friday’s fashion show. They also learned a little bit about being backstage at a fashion show and how important teamwork is. I overheard today one camper who really took the lesson about teamwork to heart. This camper was receiving help from a peer on hand sewing a train on a skirt and said, “Even in the fashion industry, you never work alone!” This was direct lesson from Alyssa’s lecture on community. She said, “We become a community through shared experiences and interests.”
Speaking of shared experiences and interests…we have a challenge for your family tonight. Over dinner or any time this evening, we encourage you to ask your camper “What inspired your logo at camp today?” You might just learn a little bit more about what your child values through this exercise.
By now, you should have all received an invitation to our end of week fashion show! I want to provide some clear info on this for parents:
Kids fashion show is at 11 a.m. Doors open at 10:45 a.m.
Teen fashion show is at 3 p.m. Doors open at 2:45 p.m.
Kid Campers (ages 6-10) need to bring a top & biker shorts that match the skirt that they are making.
We have enough chairs for each camper to have two guests. Please be considerate of this. Small children can be seated on laps.
You can park in the parking garage and bring in your ticket for validation.
Campers will share their mood boards & their garment at the show.
