2021 Mid-Week Camp Update

We are having so much fun this week with our campers! This year has been record setting in terms of number of campers participating. We are thankful to have a facility at the Omaha Design Center & Garden Room that allows us to spread out and social distance. Here are some highlights of what campers have been learning so far this week, along with a slide show of photos. Enjoy!

Littles:

  • Learned how to hand-stitch and sew on buttons

  • Learned how to use a sewing machine and control the speed

  • Completed a felt purse project

  • Learned about croquis and practiced sketching fashion designs

  • Worked on modeling skills, posture and how to enter a room with confidence.

  • Cut out patterns and fabric for a surprise project that will be revealed during the runway show on Friday!

Teens:

  • Got on machines first day

  • Learned how to put in a zipper - this is a difficult skill to learn and an Omaha Fashion Camp first!

  • Learned about croquis and practiced sketching at a college level

  • Discussed how to create a cohesive brand

  • Practiced modeling skills, posture and entering a room with confidence

  • Completed a zipper pouch

  • Started their end of week projects
